Before getting into what I actually want to blog about, lets recap Archimedes principle. It basically states that any object when immersed into another medium (solid within liquid or solid/liquid into gas) the latter gets displaced by an amount directly proportional to the former's mass.
Now this principle is really interesting to the point that when applied to laws of gravity, opened up a totally new chapter called relativity. The concept of space-time being bent by heavenly bodies is directly related to Archimedes principle although it was an altogether new theory proposed by Einstein.
Whats interesting is that space time minus all the substances that we perceive as gross matter (that which can be seen/felt and have a positive mass) is just darkness/emptiness. So what is it that gets displaced? what is it that bends? This apparent dip in space time by an object is directly proportional to its mass and thats what is measured as that body's gravitational force.
Now lets take our solar system, the SUN and the 8 planets. They all cause their respective dips within space-time continuum. They continue to revolve around the sun, which means they would be causing ripples of waves across space-time just like the ripples of water we see as soon as we drop a stone into it. These waves have a point of origin which is the same as the coordinates where the stone fell into water and have uniform radius propagating outwards. Eventually these waves fade out of our vision but the entropy that was triggered by this act continues to infinity unless absorbed by another body which only means energy was transferred from water to this object. Since solids have fewer degrees of freedom for their particles within, this sort of exaggerated waves may not be able to be produced, but strong enough it can break it into pieces. So with this the fundamental laws of thermodynamics are brought into play stating "all energy in this universe is conserved" and "energy can be transformed from one form to another".
Lets apply to all these SPACE-TIME ripples that are constantly generated by these 8 planets which all give rise to entropy within space-time itself. These waves will end up interfering with one another and thus cause this so called "Influence" that vedic astrology keeps harping about.
So this answers the fundamental question as to "how can these planets so far away minding their own business, obeying basic laws of nature and physics, influence me!!".
We as humans made of Earthly hydrocarbons are noting but material extensions of nature. We are Earth itself. Our bodies are constantly being hit by these interplanetary waves and are reacting to them continuously. Just like the experience we get when standing on a beach wave, as it hits us and withdraws, we get a feeling as if we are moving backwards, its the same at a micro level, a level which we are not sensitive enough to feel.
Vedic astrology had studied these wave patterns and using these constellations as reference points, understood how these waves affect us. To put it in basic terms "If a planet X is at constellation Y in space, the vibrations that the waves originated in space-time by its movement at location Y would affect Earth and its inhabitants in Z manner."
But note that not all on Earth have the same Z effect. The effect Z is further sub-divided into Z1 - Z12 based on the 12 zodiacs. Which zodiac a person falls under is based on his or her's own evolution and blue print.
