Ascendant Sign, Ascendant Lord, Your Name - Holds your life focus point

Interestingly seem to be getting a lot of revelation, at-least on the personal front. The more open the mind and heart is, the universe does reveal its secrets. Feel really blessed to write this information today.

In one of my recent blogs I had harped about the fact that the D1 chart is practically useless in determining anything about the native, as its common across myriad latitude and longitudinal angles falling within roughly a two hour window. Given this fact there would be countless souls having same D1 chart having totally uncorrelated lives. What is rather interesting is that such souls have a common master blue print, and can be said to belong to one collective consciousness.

Furthermore the D1 chart is not that useless after all. Getting these revelations slowly and the more I think about this arrangement, it does have some master keying material that we need to use for the subsequent divisional charts.

The most important key of them all is the Ascendant sign, its lord, where its placed, and how powerful that is. Depending upon this, the native's name is pre-determined at the time of Birth. This is no secret that one's name is not a random determination. The name is transmitted by the soul incarnating to any one within the family that its taking birth, who is intuitive enough to suggest it.
Many a times its the Mother, and in some cases the Mother is overridden by immediate relatives.
The Mother is the easiest target for the incarnating soul as the mental connection was already established as part of the pregnancy.

Your name holds the key to your life focus. At least true with respect to Hindu/Sanskrit names. I am not aware of the origins of western/christian names, so perhaps that would operate at the same level, and this theory is universal and governs all.

Once we understand the properties of our Ascendant sign, its lord we should channel our energy in that direction for optimal performance of our physical in this dimension. Remember that the word Ascendant means first, and represents our material body, without which our identity in this world cannot exist.

In my case, and in quite a few cases, I have noticed that if your ascendant happens to be Leo, who's lord is the SUN, and if SUN is well placed in D1 (seemingly right) the name of the Native happens to be directly related to the SUN god. Channeling your life focus on the SUN will trigger positive results. The SUN represents the EGO, and as such SUN ascendants (the most famous of them all is KARNA, the oldest of the PANDAVAS, and the most powerful of them all) feel rather self centered and egoistic. This is where SATURN plays a very important role in keeping them at check. Without this SUN ascendants could become highly egoistic and go to any extent to get what they want. SATURN's relationship with SUN here plays a vital role in chiseling them and showing them ground-0.

SUN ascendants are born with immense potential but will not be given that much opportunity to show case it, and the best way to deal with this is to know that your aware of your abilities and not to work hard to prove anything to anyone else. The secret for success for SUN ascendants, is to let go of the EGO!! and understand that there is absolutely noting left to prove.

KARNA had immense potential, he wanted to show the world his greatness, SATURN checked him from day-1, took him away from his biological mother, made him believe he is not a born Kshatriya, SUN countered SATURN and gave him the best education from ParasuRama, he was greater than Arjuna, but again SATURN checked him by not giving the means to prove this. Eventually his ego and individuality was so great that he had to find a wrong path to prove his greatness which was the reason for his fall. Today the world does not name their child KARNA, but you find countless ARJUNAS.

Coming back to your Name, an interesting story from my own life.  Leo ascendant, SUN exalted in ARIES which happens to be L9, I  was given a different name at birth. The strange aspect was that I was given 6 different names by a host of people. Eventually my Mom had a name for me starting in N, as it was the same as my older sisters. All my siblings had name starting in N, and trust me that name had noting to do with SUN god. My uncle had suggested Gayathri and that became the name by which people called me at home, but was never meant to be official.

Eventually I turned 3 and my school admission process started. My mom started filling up the admission form and in the Name field put in "Gayathri" by "accident", as by that time everyone had got so used to calling me that way. She did not feel like erasing it out as it was the first ever form she had filled for me and from a sentimental perspective, that my education should not start with an second attempt left it that way. Gayathri became official name and the name starting with N  naturally disappeared.

Gayathri represents savitr the sun god in rig veda. This matches my Ascendant perfectly. Another funny thing I recently noticed is the word "SUN" in my name when written in English. "SUNdar" (my dad's first name) which is my last name.
Another interesting fact is that my personal email has always be "SURAJ" which literally means SUN in HINDI. I had coined that by combining my mom's first and dad's first name.  "SUndar RAJi"
This email has been an integral part of my life. Looks like I am directly governed by SUN and its vital I focus my prayers towards him.

Once we understand our name, our ascendant we will definitely find many such interesting facts out ourselves. Things towards which we do not pay attention to, they are the keys that seem to be governing us.

Another way to know yourself better.

(One correction, from one's D1, we can determine the controlling sign of the native, like SUN for me, and it need not always be L1. For some a non L1 lord would be shaping that native, so you do need a very knowledgeable person to help figure it out for you)

Metatron cube

I recently stumbled upon this image, when investigating on the flower of life. I am generally not that much into sacred geometry, but this Metatron cube caught my immediate attention, and my brain was like, blog this, record this right away.

The fundamental purpose of my blog, is to record whatever I think I know and pass it onto my daughters when they are old enough to pick up from where I left, if at all they are interested in Metaphysics. This is really not meant to be broadcasted, but I do share it for whoever accidentally finds this blog as in this day and age everything is getting "Open".

Initial analysis of my second one's natal chart, with Moon in L8 having 9th aspect of L12 Jupiter, I feel excited that she may become psychic as she grows up. I am trying to set up that foundation early on in life. Perhaps Saturn representing the mother for her would aid in this endeavor? Time will tell, whether its a position indicating becoming a "psychic" or a "psycho" as the difference is a very thin line on the mental plane. (Actually L8 moon for Cancer ascendant sort of indicates a "psycho" mom, fitting this aptly for me)..ha ha the more I think this arrangement seems perfect.

Coming back to Metatron, why it caught my attention? I have been pretty obsessed with only 2 sacred geometric patterns all my life so far, one is the "Star of David", and the other "Flower of life". The reason being the fact that a complex arrangement of mankind has been so easily and finely depicted by these two mathematical models.

Now Metatron, if you look closely at this picture, its so evident right away that its Star of David, superimposed on the flower of life!! Whoa, what was that, I was mind blown. It never occurred for me to actually integrate these two patterns, and it just got better. Imagine the information contained in integrating these two patterns.

I always looked at Star Of David as representing an individual and Flower Of Life as representing the collective, but when we superimpose one on the other, we now see Star of David operating at the collective level. Again mind blown. How our ancestors knew so much and we know so little. Everything sacred is getting lost, and we are as humans going down in our level of understanding of our fundamental nature, and channeling all our energy on material nonsense in the name of Science. Physics has taken man away from the fundamental aspect of MetaPhysics.

We are in the world of RAHU, and its the order of the universe, that the natural flow of the tide of time. RAHU will move innovation, his job is to take you away from your source, and intoxicate you in what he thinks is right for you. America as a nation is governed by RAHU is making it focus only on the material aspects of life.

World does not want the torah or the vedas, we destroyed that which was of value. A time will come when mankind will try to resurrect the lost art, like the way we are going out of our way to extinguish major species and then spend time and effort rehabilitating them to a bigger population, another classic that comes to mind is when the Spanish burnt the Maya civilization and now, so called scientists are resurrecting that which was lost and burnt!!

Do not waste time with D1 Chart (RASI)

RASI is where your Moon is placed in your Birth chart. When we feed in our birth time and place, all systems by default generates only your  RASI and D9 chart. What I understand is that the RASI(D1) chart is equivalent to looking at your self image from a very long distance, how accurate is that going to be. Actually knowing this has got me a big sigh of relief.

Interestingly no two souls on this planet will have the same soul blueprint, nor do they choose the exact same life path/experience. Even twins born within minutes have really different life experiences. Take a look at their birth RASI chart. They would exactly be the same.

I personally know so many twins, where one is brilliant, got into elite educational institutions, while the latter suffers through just passing the tests. Why is this the case if their RASI chart shows the exact same planetary position?

Conclusion: RASI is very weak, and too basic. It does not change for a minimal of 2 hours, remains the same within the same country. A child born in Chennai, India, when compared to a child born 1hr later in New Delhi would end up having the exact same RASI chart.
They have no correlation, they need not even come from the same oversoul, but enter this world with the same master decryption key. We need to look at the finer charts to derive the individual's unique interpretation key.

All astrologers spend countless hours pouring over RASI chart, and try to predict or interpret things that are too generalized over a period of 2 hours. Planets are slow moving, Jupiter/Saturn are going to in the same location relative to Earth for a year, yes at-least 365 days, Jupiter is going to spend in one zodiac, Saturn 2 and half years, thats right almost 1000 days my friend, its going to spend in the same zodiac. Its like the gravitational bend to space/time that shows the apparent position of a star whereas its actual position is somewhere else, we are definitely mis-led.

I am done wasting time on RASI charts!! This is indeed a big revelation to me today.
The art to look at divisional charts is lost. I hardly find any material, including Parashara.
Definitely going to spend the next few months only on D2-D30. Each divisional chart is for specfic aspects of one's life.

More in one of my older blogs
https://thehalfcup.blogspot.com/2012/11/introduction-to-vedic-divisional-charts.html

D2-D30 react faster to time/location change, the more deeper you divide, the difference is more, for eg D2 changes faster than D1, D3 faster than D2, and so the propagation (mathematically)

D1 < D2 <D3 < ..... D30 (in terms of speed of planetary transitions)

Proof that Jews offshoot from Vedic Brahmins (Sanskrit to Hebrew conversion)

Excerpt From Below website

Citing his own work 'The Holy Bible - A Source book of Ancient Indian History', a paper submitted to All Indian Oriental Conference (1976) held at Dharwar, he notes that "We have already tried to equate Brahma, Sarasvati, Manu and Bali with the Biblical Abraham, Sarai, Noah and Peleg." (Shukla 1979, p.53) Not only that, but Shukla holds that the Jewish Laban and Brahmanic Lavana coincide:
"It is noteworthy to note in the above context that the sister of Lavana on the Indian side becomes the daughter of Laban in the Biblical account. It may also be mentioned in this respect that while Sarasvati is said to be the daughter of Brahma in accordance with the Indian tradition, her Biblical counterpart, Sarai, has been described as the sister of Abraham. In this context, we would like to remind our readers of a previous discussion of 'Svas', the root-word of the Sanskrit 'svasar' (sister) which becomes 'Bes' to mean 'daughter' in the Hebrew language." (Shukla 1979, p.54)
Equally striking is Shukla's derivation of 'Mary' from 'Matri': "the words 'Mary' and 'Mariam' could be derived from a Sanskrit word, matr, meaning 'mother'." (Shukla 1976, p.42)
"Similarly the word, 'Mari' or 'Mary' may also be derived from Sanskrit 'Matri'." [and Shukla notes that Mary is worshipped as a mother goddess.]... "The word Adam is derived from a Hebrew word, 'Adamah' which means 'the earth'. Similarly the Skt. 'Adityam' is derived from 'Aditi' which also means the Earth. Hence the primary meaning of both the words, 'Adam' and Adityam would be 'earthly one'. (Shukla 1979, p.47)
His papers provide detailed etymologies of the word 'Abraham':
"The word 'Adam' can also be derived from Sanskrit 'Adityam' with the help of the rule of haplology also. Haplology is the name given by Bloomfield to the phenomenon where of the two similar syllables following each other, one is dropped. The word 'Adityam' will change to 'Adam' under the influence of this rule in the following way: -
Adityam -> Adatam -> Adadam (t -> d) -> Adam (Haplology)
It would be interesting to note here that the Sanskrit 'Adityam', represented by the same rule would change to 'Aton':
Adityan -> Aditan -> Atadan (d -> t) -> Atan ->: Aten /Aton (Shukla 1979, p.48) This is interesting, for it provides an Indo-European derivation for the Egyptian God Aton.
Moreover, "the Vayu Purana mentions Manu as Bharata" (Shukla 1979, p.56)
Intriguing is Shukla's derivation of Rcam: "We may consider another Sanskrit word, 'Rcam' which may become Arcam and then 'Aleichem' (r -> l) which is a Hebrew word." (Shukla 1979, p.46)
Shukla also provides certain other etymologies, and repeatedly derives Adam from Adityam, and Mary from Matr (Shukla 1979, p.46) He also postulates a derivation of Gr. Adonis from Aton, and notes that Heb Adonay -> Lord. (ibid., p.48).
"It can be shown that the Hebrew word, 'Elohim' can be derived from the Skt. 'Brahma':
Brahma -> Ibrahim (rule of vowelization) -> Ibrahim (rule of stress) - > Ilohim (r -> l) -> Elohim
Hence the expression 'Adonay Elohim; becomes equivalent to the Skt. 'Aditya-Brahma'." (Shukla 1979, p.48)
Furthermore, he notes, "Savitr -> Savitru (r -> ru) -> Sabiru (v ->  -> Habitru (s -> h)" -> Habiru -> Habiru -> PR Egyptian, Apiru, Ibru, Ibri, Ibrin." (Shukla 1979, p.51)
Another etymology is: (Shukla 1979, p.53)
Iksvaku -> Issvahu (no k) -> Issahu (va -> a) -> Ishak, Isaac.
Further, Shukla writes, "It may also be mentioned here that Satarupa, the name of the daughter-wife of Manu, is also one of the names of the daughter-consort of Brahma" (Shukla 1979, p.53) From this we may note the case of Noah's daughters and Manu, the flood survivor.
Another interesting derivation is also supplied: "Krsna -> Christ. We know that the Bengali pronounciation of the word Kr.s.n.a is Kriste. 'Christo' or 'Christ' is only a matter of spelling." (Shukla 1976, p.42)
Moreover, "Yehasua has been derived from a Sanskrit word, Yasasva." (Shukla 1976, p.42)
It would also appear that Jehova is also related to a Sanskrit word: "This word [Jehova] could, however, be equated with the Vedic word jahvuh, which may be considered, grammatically, both as an adjective and a proper noun. In the former sense, the word, jahv.uh has been used at least four times in the R.gveda. Thus, it has been used as an {p.44} attribute of Lord Agni (RV 3.1.12), as an attribute of Lord Indra (RV 8.13.24), as an attribute of Lord Soma (RV 9.75.1) and as an attribute of Lord Agni (RV 10.110.3)."

My take on the Star of David

The Star of David has 6 corners formed by the intersection of two triangles. These 6 edges represent our six energy fields or bodies. The downward triangle represents the three bodies that ground our being to the physical world indicating energy traveling downwards, which is the natural flow of our prana. Those being the physical, ethereal and astral. The triangle pointing upwards, represents the bodies that connect with the cosmos, meaning beyond matter, matter less planes comprising of mental, spiritual and nirvanic. The 7th body is where there is no more distinction, as being has become one with the godhead. The star represents the 6 energy fields in unison.

Sexagesimal Number system origin

Been wondering for a while as to why Time alone seems to be measured in base 60, while rest of everything that we quantify was base 10. Finally got time to research this matter and decided to make a note of this for everyone interested to know. Of course thanks to wiki and google, the information noted here is of no original thinking.

After quite some research, I was pointed out that not only time, but a host of other aspects are quantified by base-60, and they include dozen, foot (12 inches), geometric angles (circle is 360, triangle totals to 180) etc.

So here goes the reason, our fingers. Fingers were the first tools used in counting since we came into existance. Since we have 10 fingers, we got the decimal number system. Its easier to count in multiples of 10 and 5. That is why mentally even today we are more comfortable in buying count of 10 apples or settle for a price which is a multiple of 5/10. We don't really stop at picking 33 wild strawberries , or do we?

This explains the decimal system, but what about base-60?  For that see your fingers, except the thumb every other finger is divided into 3 phalanges.  Now use your left thumb as a counter, and  count all the phalanges of the 4 fingers of right hand (excluding right thumb). They add to 12.  Now use the left pointer as the next counter and add all the phalanges of the right fingers (excluding right thumb), that results in a 2nd iteration of 12. So now you have counted 24. This will continue for 5 iterations (one for every finger in the left hand) and voila we get 5 * 12 = 60.

To further continue, since we cannot count beyond 60 using our fingers, base-60 was assigned and in general things were getting quantified by multiples of 12, like dozen, foot = 12 inches etc. Also we cannot go beyond 6 times 60 as excluding the 4 fingers used for counting, only 6 are left as iterators, so 360 becomes a full circle or completion. This is perhaps the reason why a circle is considered mathematically to subtend 360 degrees, and any geometrical shape >=4 sides has angles (n-2)*180.

Thanks sumerians, looks like Alexander had actually looted them and sent all their hard work to Babylonia and the Greeks duplicated their work.

Signing off.

Planetary Exaltation/Debilitation and MoolTrikon

House ownership and its reasons

The 12 houses of the natal chart has ownership in terms of planetary lords. Each house represents one sign and each sign has a lord associated with the sign.

To understand why a particular planet is assigned lordship over a particular Sign, we need to understand the nature associated with that Sign and its Planet.

Nature of Planets and Signs

1. Saturn
For me personally, Saturn is the most favorite of them all. The reason why I am inclined to Saturn is attributed to my nature, which loves justice. Delivering justice, accessing the deserved karma that would mature your soul and propagate your journey through life. We are here for the only reason to learn, we are in the school of life. We are not born to go through a unchallenged life, its boring. We need events to shake our very foundations, question our very existence, look at the bigger picture.
Saturn delivers this. Saturn is a disciplinarian, Saturn is focus of life energy to problems that sharpen your nature. It is the process of making a diamond glitter. Saturn is going to make sure  your not laid back, he is the chief justice of the supreme court.

Sign: Libra: As the name suggests is the sign that delivers Justice. Its symbol being that of a balance is not by accident. Thats the very nature of Libra.

When we put Saturn in Libra, they just fall in love with each other. Saturn is in a sign that says, go ahead deliver your justice. Do what it takes to sharpen this person, and I will support you.
Saturn is considered Exalted in Libra.

2. Sun
The very reason why your alive. Its the originator of life, the very cradle of your existence. Sun is you in totality. Its your very being, your Soul, who you are, what you think of yourself, your projection in this world, your very ego. Your source, your Father, Sun is the Father that you look up to and try to emulate. Sun is prime, everything else revolve around it, its the centre. Its the captain of the ship of life.

Sign: Aries, the very first sign in the zodiac. The first 30 degrees is given to Aries. Its the beginning, its the start of the Journey.

When we put Sun in Aries, Sun feels important. Its given the throne, its given the power to navigate the ship. Sun is empowered, Sun is exalted in Aries.

Sun and Saturn are Natural enemies, so they are debilitated in the other's exaltation sign.
Sun debilitated in Libra, Saturn debilitated in Aries.

Why Sun and Saturn do not like each other?
Its simple when you think about it. Ego does not like to be questioned. Ego does not like to be delivered judgement. Ego wants control. Ego acts in accordance with what it wants. Ego is selfish. Its your perspective of yourself, you may not like what Saturn is giving you.  Ego and Judgement do not live together. Sun and Saturn have opposing interests.

Another interesting aspect to this whole equation is the fact that Saturn is the last considered planet in Vedic astrology, given that neptune and pluto are not considered (unlike western astrology).
Saturn is the furtherest from the Sun, proving that they need the distance to have harmony. They cannot be in the same room.  They do not like to be in the same house, thats a big source of disharmony for the concerned person.

All the planets are considered as children of the SUN, but Saturn being the last child, gets least attention from the SUN, and probably SATURN feels like he does not have a father. A child who was abandoned by its father, having a natural source of turmoil and hatred towards father.

3. Mercury
My second love Mercury!! It is what is making me write this blog today, giving me the means, and the intellect to understand the foundations of vedic astrology. Mercury is your intelligence, your grasping power, your handwriting, your communication skills, way to learn what is best for your progression.

Mercury is the closest planet to the SUN, being the first born, has the full support of its father. Infact it does not leave the father, its always next to it. Its used to the heat of the father, its happy having the effect of combustion.

Whats super interesting for me is the fact that the Ego is strengthened with a sound intellect. The more learned a person is, the more sharp they are in their thinking the stronger is their Ego. So in a way Mercury strengthens the SUN, but if the same intellect is applied in a negative way, if I do not have the capacity to remember and learn, comprehend the science around me,  it plummets the Ego.
So placement of Mercury is benefic in one house, whereas malefic in its other house.

Every planet with the exception of SUN and MOON have the privilege of owning two houses.
Mercury owns Virgo and Gemini. In the house of Gemini it becomes a Malefic, whereas in the house of Virgo it becomes a benefic.

This gives a good idea on how the intellect and ego are intertwined, and how they are directly proportional to each other.

For me personally, I love to see the SUN and MERCURY always in the same house, although combust or close to combust, it shows that the ego and intellect are closely aligned.
90% of the people will have this combination as mercury is in close proximity to the sun, there is a very small time window when it actually moves to the next sign from where the SUN is.

Sign: Gemini and Virgo are two signs that is ruled by Mercury. Interestingly both these signs are symbolized by man (women for virgo). Perhaps thats a clear indication of wanting to use one's intellect depicted by Mercury. (Elephant and Dolphins are equally if not higher than man, but constraint by their body)

Mercury is exalted in Virgo at first 20 degrees, at its mool-trikon at 20-25 degrees and 25-30 degrees its own house.

4.Moon
The mystery planet (I know its not a planet but from a  the zodiac perspective it is given the status of a planet)!! Moon is something I personally cannot grasp as its been combust in the ninth house along with a host of other planets, on the first day after new moon, its barely surviving!! So personally the effect of Moon for me is zero. Anyway so this has always been my personal quest, to find out about Moon, as for me to comprehend the moon is harder given my disposition.
Moon represents the mind, the mother, the women's menstrual cycle, door to occult, metaphysics, that which is all hidden within us, our connection to the source.
Mind is a mystery, it cannot be explained scientifically. Mind cannot be grasped as its the mind which is trying to grasp itself.
The Moon is not placed accidentally in the sky, it is there for a specific reason. Also there is only one moon for Earth (its purposely decided that way), as it represents the mental plane. Multiple moons would represent multiple planes for souls entering this dimension, which Earth does not support for various reasons. Souls entering the Earthly plane, rests on the Moon waiting for the right body.

The mind cannot exist without the body. So Moon is a natural friend of the SUN as the latter is the source of the physical body. Moon cannot function without a sound intellect, so again Mercury becomes a natural friend for the Moon.  From Moon's perspective, its natural friends are SUN, MERCURY.  .

Sign: Taurus is a fixed Earth sign. The purpose of the Moon is to push souls to Earth and control their mental plane, so it makes sense for Moon to be exalted in Taurus, particularly at 3 degrees. Own house happens to be Cancer.

Moon does not have any enemies, it considers everything else including Rahu/Ketu to be neutral.

5. Mars
The most fiery planet. Loves the SUN and extends its nature. Sun's most favorite son!! The energy that feeds into the ego, the personality of the created. So if you guessed where Mars is super happy is Aries, ur absolutely right, and when Sun is placed, the dad feels so welcome and exalted.
Mars drives the native to act. Mars is the accomplisher, its the energy that takes you to your workplace. Its the blood of our body, carrier of material. Loves Earth, as without Earth this energy cannot be dissipated. The commander in chief of the army. Mars governs our nature, whether we are compassionate or cruel. Mars is raw power, energy that needs guidance and discipline. If left to itself it can self destruct. The natural controller is our SATURN.

Saturn checks the power of  Mars. Signs owned by Saturn are Capricorn and Aquarius. So naturally MARS will need to work at its maximum capacity when placed in these two signs as its within the direct control of SATURN. Mars is exalted at 28 degrees Capricorn.  Capricorn is an Earthly movable sign which favors Mars. Own house happens to be Aries and Scorpio. Mooltrikon happens to be 0-18 degrees Aries. Cancer is the sign of Mars's fall, and maximum fall at 28 degrees. I am yet to understand why its fallen in Cancer.
Mars is something I am still learning, and have not paid much attention to this planet. Negatively placed Mars is source of all blood related disorders, and affliction can make the personality cruel and lack compassion.
Mars represents everything and anything that you can do with Earth. Earth literally meaning soil. How much land you will possess in this lifetime, and how much of it you inherit/earn. Land related disputes arise if Mars is afflicted.
The bizarre thing about Mars is that it actually causes "dosha", i.e negative relationship with spouse in almost every position. There are very few positions in the chart where when its placed, is well disposed.  The most cruel of them all would be Mars in L7 of one's chart. We need to further evaluate the D9 chart and check where its placed on that, but when Mars is in L7, it would not help in producing a healthy offspring, as when not properly matched (arranged marriage through horoscope matching) as its a mismatch at the blood level, the DNA pairing goes for a toss.

Food and Associated Memory

Wanted to blog today about certain thoughts behind food, thats been lingering in my head for awhile. Being a vegetarian fundamentally ...
